Doctor's Tardis open for winners
The winners of a Children in Need competition have become the first to visit the sets where Doctor Who is filmed by BBC Wales.
The studios near Pontypridd opened to the public for the first time. One hundred winners of the competition and their guests are being given guided tours over the weekend. As well as being shown the inside of the Tardis and the underground HQ of Torchwood, there was a "mystery stop", with the visitors sworn to secrecy.
Many exterior shots for the show are filmed in Cardiff, and the Welsh capital's council leader Rodney Berman said: "We are very proud to be the home of Doctor Who and relish the opportunity to show visitors from around the UK the amazing backdrop we provide to the show.
"I am sure the lucky competition winners will have a great time and will enjoy visiting south Wales."

R2-D2 AQUARIUM
"Modeled after the most well-known astromech droid in the galaxy, this R2-D2 holds a 1 3/4-gallon aquarium tank in his central compartment, ideal for a small freshwater family of goldfish, gouramis, or tetras.
The domed head rotates with any vocal command you issue and he utters his familiar "bleeps" from the Star Wars® movies. His radar eye houses the eyepiece to a built-in periscope that provides an intimate view of the aquatic activity below, allowing you to watch your charges swim towards the food you've dropped in from the dome's removable feeding door."

Shuttle set for Nov. 14 liftoff
NASA confirmed Endeavour's launch for 7:55 p.m. Nov. 14, but it said the final mission to service the Hubble Space Telescope would be delayed until at least May. More time is needed to prepare spare parts that astronauts will take to the observatory. They will replace a Hubble computer system that crashed last month and forced the postponement of Atlantis' planned Oct. 14 liftoff.
"We don't want to take any chances on bringing a box up there that isn't going to be 100 percent and work to the absolute best that it can," said Hubble Project Manager Preston Burch of the Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland.
