Transformers Morph Into Comic

IDW Publishing is releasing The Transformers Animated: The Arrival, number one, the first in a series of new comics based on the continuity of the Cartoon Network animated series.

The comic, published under license from Hasbro, comes from Animated series head writer Marty Isenberg, along with artist Dario Brizuela.

The Transformers comic takes a new look at the story behind the Autobots' arrival on Earth and features the characters Ultra Magnus, Sentinel Prime, Starscream, Blackarachnia and Oilslick, who was originally intended to be a toy-only character.

Alex Milne and Marcelo Matere each provide a special cover for the debut issue.
