Any Thoughts To Declare?

September 26, 2008 7:41 AM

Get your mind read at the airport.

An airport security scanner called "Malintent" which reads people rather than their luggage is being tested in the US.

The system works by using sensors to predict if a person intends to cause any harm. It monitors body temperature, heart rate and respiration.

Developed by a division of US Homeland Security the system is thought to be at the cutting edge of attribute screening technology.

Privacy concerns have already been raised as the technology records individual personal characteristics for non-medical reasons. Mr Burns, the Project Leader reports that when a person passes through the device the records would be deleted.
